Additium has recently completed the delivery of a new E-SBA test system to one of its customers, further strengthening its commitment to providing high-performance solutions for passive safety validation in the automotive sector.
The delivered system integrates servo-electric actuation technology, enabling precise and repeatable load application for seatbelt anchorage testing according to major international standards including ECE R14, FMVSS 210, GB14167-2024, GB15083-2019 and ISOFIX requirements.
Designed to support demanding laboratory environments, the E-SBA rig incorporates a real-time control platform with optimized algorithms specifically developed for anchorage test profiles, ensuring accurate force control and reliable execution of regulatory procedures. Compared to traditional hydraulic solutions, the fully electric architecture provides higher accuracy&repeatability, cleaner operation, reduced maintenance requirements, and improved positioning flexibility.
The system configuration allows operation with up to 12 actuators, delivering dynamic forces in the range of 30–50 kN at speed of 300 mm/s, together with an extended actuator positioning range fully motorized.
This enables efficient adaptation to multiple vehicle geometries and anchorage layouts within a single test environment.
As part of the installation, the system can incorporate advanced synthetic polymer chains, significantly lighter than conventional steel chains while maintaining a maximum service load of 100 kN. These chains improve operator ergonomics, reduce setup time, eliminate heavy turnbuckles, and enhance control response by minimizing dead weight during dynamic testing operations.
With this latest delivery, Additium continues to expand its portfolio of electric passive safety test solutions, supporting laboratories worldwide in achieving higher accuracy, improved efficiency, and safer working conditions in seatbelt anchorage validation procedures.
